Overview

SponsorSpot is a Chrome extension that helps identify job listings from companies recognized by the Dutch IND as sponsors for Highly Skilled Migrant visas. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

All processing happens entirely on your local device. The extension does not:

• Collect any personal information
• Send data to external servers
• Use analytics or tracking services
• Share data with third parties
• Access your browsing history beyond the current LinkedIn/Indeed job page

Local Storage

The extension uses browser localStorage (stored only on your device) to:

• Remember which job postings you have previously viewed (stored as job URLs only)

This data:

• Is stored exclusively on your device
• Is never transmitted to any server
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage
• Is used only to provide visual feedback on previously viewed jobs

Host Permissions

The extension requests access to:

• https://*.linkedin.com/* - Required to read job listings and add visual indicators
• https://*.indeed.com/* - Required to read job listings and add visual indicators

These permissions are used only to:

• Read publicly visible company names from job listings
• Add visual indicators (badges and highlights) to job listings
• Process data locally on your device

We do not access any private information, user profiles, or data beyond what is publicly visible on the job listing pages.

Data Sources

The extension uses locally packaged data files:

• sponsors.json - Contains the list of recognized sponsor companies from the IND public register
• company_aliases.json - Contains mappings between trading names and legal entity names

These files contain no personal data and are based on publicly available information from the IND (Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst) public register.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• You can uninstall the extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data
• You can clear localStorage manually through your browser settings
• No account or registration is required

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through extension updates.
